The Westport Police Department has opened an investigation following a residential burglary that occurred in the afternoon on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

This includes residents in the streets and areas surrounding Bayberry Lane near Easton Road, Meeker Road, etc., police say.

Police say the suspect(s) may have approached other residences prior to committing the crime. They are asking residents living in surrounding streets and neighborhoods to contact the department if the home is outfitted with a “ring” type doorbell camera or other external video surveillance that had been active at the time the incident occurred.
